Pastor James Mangum delivered his message, "Divine Appointment".

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand. - Psalm 37:23-24

And when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

November 9, 2024

Sister Gloria Benjamin delivered her message, "Peace Amid Your Storm".

How often when tempests of temptation gather we battle with the storm alone. We trust to our own strength till we are ready to perish. Then we remember Jesus, and if we call upon Him to save us, we shall not cry in vain. He never fails to give us the help we need. If we have the Saviour in our hearts, there is no need of fear. The Redeemer will deliver us from danger in the way that He knows best.

November 2, 2024

Pastor James Mangum delivered his message, "I am the Alpha & Omega".

Walk continually in the light of God. Meditate day and night upon His character. Then you will see His beauty and rejoice in His goodness. Your heart will glow with a sense of His love. You will be uplifted as if borne by everlasting arms. With the power and light that God imparts, you can comprehend more and accomplish more than you ever before deemed possible.

“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. ”Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.    Revelation 22:12-14

October 26, 2024

Dr. Manjula Dhayalan delivered her message "Healing Touch".

Our Lord Jesus Christ came to this world as the unwearied servant of man's necessity. He “took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses,” that He might minister to every need of humanity. The burden of disease and wretchedness and sin He came to remove. It was His mission to bring to men complete restoration; He came to give them health and peace and perfection of character.

October 19, 2024

Pastor James Mangum delivered his message "In His Presence".

As God raised Christ from the dead, that He might bring life and immortality to light through the gospel, and thus save His people from their sins, so Christ has raised fallen human beings from spiritual death, quickening them with His life, filling their hearts with hope and joy.

even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, - Ephesians 2:5-6

October 12, 2024

Pastor James Mangum  presented the message, "Where Will You Spend Eternity?".

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." John 14:1-3

September 21, 2024

This Sabbath we celebrate World Pathfinder Day!

World Pathfinder day is a special Sabbath in which we celebrate what it means to be a Pathfinder. Every year a different theme is chosen and it is a day full of singing, preaching smiles, and Pathfinder spirit.

"...and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen." - Matthew 28:20

September 14,2024

Elder Larry Vollaro concludes our Summer Series, "Great Chapters in the Bible", with his sermon titled " Our Heavenly Home".

1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.
4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads.
5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever. (Revelation 22:1-5)

September 7, 2024

This Sabbath Pastor James Mangum continues our Summer Series "Great Chapters in the Bible", with his sermon titled "The Chapter of Faith".

"Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). Have we not proved this in the past as we have moved out in faith to produce the things now seen? ... Faith is not only to look forward to things unseen; it is to be confirmed by looking at past experience, at tangible results, the verification of God's Word.... Pray, “Lord, increase my faith.” Faith quickens the senses to work diligently to produce results. Faith elevates and ennobles the powers of the soul, enabling it to lay hold upon the unseen....

August 31, 2024

This Sabbath we continue our Summer Series "Great Chapters in the Bible", with our sermon titled "The Beatitudes".

The Beatitudes are Christ's greeting, not only to those who believe, but to the whole human family.

Christ leaves us in no doubt as to the traits of character that He will always recognize and bless. From the ambitious favorites of the world, He turns to those whom they disown, pronouncing all blessed who receive His light and life. To the poor in spirit, the meek, the lowly, the sorrowful, the despised, the persecuted, He opens His arms of refuge, saying, “Come unto Me, ... and I will give you rest.”

August 24, 2024

This Sabbath we continue our Summer Series "Great Chapters in the Bible". Pastor Steve Siciliano will deliver his sermon titled "The Prayer of Jesus."

John chapter 17 contains the intercessory prayer offered by Christ to His Father just before His trial and crucifixion. This prayer is a lesson regarding the intercession that the Saviour would carry on within the veil, when His great sacrifice in behalf of men, the offering of Himself, should have been completed. Our Mediator gave His disciples this illustration of His ministration in the heavenly sanctuary in behalf of all who will come to Him in meekness and humility, emptied of all selfishness, and believing in His power to save.

August 17, 2024

Pastor James Mangum continues the Summer Series "Great Chapters in the Bible" with his sermon titled "God is Love".

In the thirteenth chapter of First Corinthians the apostle Paul defines true Christlike love.... This chapter is an expression of the obedience of all who love God and keep His commandments. It is brought into action in the life of every true believer.

August 10, 2024

Pastor James preaches the sermon entitled "The God Who Knows Me" from the Summer Series "Great Chapters in the Bible"

Daniel 2:1-3 "And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him. Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king. And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream."

AUGUST 3, 2024

Pastor James Mangum continues our summer series, "Great Chapters in the Bible," with his sermon titled "The Lord our Shepherd." Psalms 23:1-6

Jesus is the good Shepherd. His followers are the sheep of His pasture. A shepherd is always with his flock to defend them, to keep them from the wolves, to hunt up the lost sheep and carry them back to the fold, to lead them beside green pastures and beside living waters.

July 27, 2024

Elder Santiago shares one of the Great Chapters in the Bible" Isaiah 53

July 20, 2024

Dr. Williams presents his sermon entitled "Somebody Knows your Name."

Jesus knows us individually and knows us by name. Every soul is as fully known to Jesus as if he were the only one for whom the Saviour died. He came to draw all men unto Himself. He bids them, “Follow me,” His Spirit moves upon their hearts to draw them to come to Him. He says, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” He cares for each one as if there were no other on the face of the earth.

JULY 13, 2024

Pastor Mangum preaches about one of the "Great Chapter in the Bible" - Courage in the Lord. Based on the chapter of Joshua 1.

If men walk in the path God has marked out for them, they will have a counselor whose wisdom is far above any human wisdom. Joshua was a wise general because God was his guide. The first sword that Joshua used was the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God. While the Bible religion embodies the principles of activity in service, it is also necessary to ask for wisdom daily from the Source of all knowledge. What was Joshua's victory? This was the secret of Joshua's victory: He made God his Guide.

"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." Joshua 1:9

july 6, 2024

Elder Emerald Nandigama continues the Summer Series "Great Chapter in the Bible" - BLESSINGS & CURSINGS. Based on Deuteronomy 28.

If we are to possess the heavenly inheritance, we must be in covenant relation with God and employ every faculty of our being to win souls to Christ. God's people must be peculiar, distinct in character and practice from the world. They must be models of personal piety and good works. The Lord has set His church as a light to guide the world to heaven.

We are to examine ourselves closely. We should plead with God for spiritual eyesight to discern our mistakes and understand our defection of character. If we have been critical and condemnatory, full of faultfinding, talking doubt and darkness, we have a work of repentance and reformation to do. We are to walk in the light, speaking words to bring peace and happiness. Jesus is to abide in the soul. And where He is, there will be fragrance of character instead of gloom, murmuring, and repining.

"And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee." Deuteronomy 28: 1-2, 15

June 29, 2024

Sister Gloria Benjamin delivers her message titled "God's Holy Law". Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good. - Romans 7:12

The Saviour’s life of obedience maintained the claims of the law; it proved that the law could be kept in humanity, and showed the excellence of character that obedience would develop.

June 22, 2024

Elder Larry Vollaro delivers his message titled "Patience of Job." “The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord” (Job 1:21).

This world is the scene of our trials, our griefs, our sorrows. We are here to bear the test of God. The fire of the furnace is to kindle till our dross is consumed and we come forth as gold purified in the furnace of affliction.... Light will come out of this darkness which to you at times seems incomprehensible.

June 15, 2024

Pastor Mangum presents another "Great Chapter in the Bible" and celebrate the graduating 8th Grade Class of the Whispering Pines SDA School.

Setting a worthy aim is the cornerstone of success in any endeavor.  He who would achieve true success in life must keep steadily in view the aim worthy of his endeavor. Such an aim is set before the youth of today.

God’s purpose for us is broader, deeper, and higher than our restricted vision has comprehended. Studying God’s Word and His works will help you grow in wisdom and spirit. Always search for God; He is the only one who can attend to your cry and let light shine into your heart and life.

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you: He will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6

Congratulations, to the 8th Grade Class Graduates of the Whispering Pines SDA School and welcome to all visitors, parents, teachers and students.

June 8, 2024

Women’s Ministry Emphasis Day - our speaker Sister Lucina Findlay-DeJesus will present her message titled “The God Who Sees You”. You are also invited to attend the afternoon workshop right after the Fellowship Lunch.

God sees us wandering in the "deserts" of our lives.  He sees us in our pain when our hearts are broken. Nothing happens that God doesn't notice.  God watches over us. He loves us and cares for us.  We are priceless in the sight of God, so He longs to change us and mold us to be like Him!  He is the God who sees.

"For His eyes are on the ways of man, And He sees all his steps." Job 34:21

JUNE 1, 2024

Pastor James Mangum starts our summer series, "Great Chapters in the Bible". He will kickoff the series preaching his sermon titled, "Genesis, The Beginning".

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness [a]was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. Genesis 1:1-3

May 18, 2024

t's World Adventurer Day this sabbath! Pastor James Mangum delivers his message entitled "Jesus Knows He Takes Care Of You."  "The call of the disciples is rooted in the call of Jesus, and this call is to change their lives forever. The disciples are not only to hear the word of God but act on it." Matthew 4:18-22

May 11, 2024

Guest speaker Jonathan Fernandez delivers his message titled " Joy That Never Ends".

"For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning." Psalms 30:5. It is ever God’s purpose to bring light out of darkness, joy out of sorrow, and rest out of weariness, for the waiting, longing soul.

May 4, 2024

Pastor James delivers his sermon, "I WILL DRAW ALL MEN."

Jesus promised that He would draw all men to Himself because of the way that He died on the cross. While Jesus lived, He made predictions and prophesies about His own death.  He was lifted up for sinners like us to have eternal life. For instance, in John 3:14-15, Jesus said, "Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life."

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

April 27,2024

Gloria Benjamin presents her The disciples prayed that greater strength might be imparted to them in the work of the ministry; for they saw that they would meet the same determined opposition that Christ had encountered when upon the earth. While their united prayers were ascending in faith to heaven, the answer came. The place where they were assembled was shaken, and they were endowed anew with the Holy Spirit. Their hearts filled with courage, they again went forth to proclaim the word of God in Jerusalem. “With great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus,” and God marvelously blessed their efforts.

March 30 - April 20, 2024

Spring Series

Four-part series, 'Living the Jesus' Life.' Unlike any other, this series will guide you on spiritual growth and understanding from March 30 through April 20.

Oh, if we would only walk and work as Jesus worked, how strict would be all our transactions with believers and unbelievers; how tender, how charitable, how meek and lowly of heart would we become, because we have learned of Him. How dimly we reflect the great glory of our Lord! We need to behold him more steadfastly, that we may be changed into his image." Be Like Jesus, 5.6.  Share this series with your friends and invite them to come to church with you!

April 20, 2024

Pastor James delivers Part 4 of Series "Living The Jesus' Life: SALVATION"

Before Zacchaeus had looked upon the face of Christ, he had begun the work that made him manifest as a true penitent. Before being accused by man, he had confessed his sin. He had yielded to the conviction of the Holy Spirit and had begun to carry out the teaching of the words written for ancient Israel as well as for ourselves. No repentance is genuine that does not work reformation.

When Christ is received as a personal Saviour, salvation comes to the soul. Zacchaeus had received Jesus, not merely as a passing guest in his home, but as One to abide in the soul temple. The scribes and Pharisees accused him as a sinner; they murmured against Christ for becoming his guest, but the Lord recognized him as a son of Abraham. For “they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

April 13, 2024

Pastor James delivers Part 3 of Series "Living The Jesus' Life: EXAMPLE"

There is in man a disposition to esteem himself more highly than his brother, to work for self, to seek the highest place; often, this results in evil surmisings and bitterness of spirit. The ordinance preceding the Lord's Supper is to clear away these misunderstandings, to bring man out of his selfishness, from self-exaltation to the humility of heart that will lead him to serve his brother. Whenever this ordinance is celebrated, the children of God are brought into a holy relationship to help and bless each other. They covenant that life shall be given to unselfish ministry. Their field of labor is as wide as their Master's. Those who have communed with Christ in the upper chamber will minister as He did.

We will have the “Ordinance of Humility - Foot Washing" and Communion this Sabbath. The communion service is open to all believing Christians.

April 6, 2024

Pastor James delivers Part 2 of Series "Living The Jesus' Life: FORGIVENESS"

True happiness does not consist in the possession of wealth or position but in the possession of a pure, clean heart, cleansed by obedience to the truth. Every one is given the opportunity to carry out the principles of heaven. Forgiving injuries, not avenging them, is an exhibition of that wisdom which is true goodness. Christlike love for the men through whom the Lord has wrought is a manifestation of a real transformation of character.

March 30, 2024

Pastor James is preaching, Part 1 of Series "Living The Jesus' Life: MONEY"

The poor widow who cast two mites into the treasury of the Lord showed love, faith, and benevolence. She gave all that she had, trusting to God's care for the uncertain future. Her little gift was pronounced by our Saviour the greatest that day cast into the treasury. Its value was measured, not by the worth of the coin, but by the purity of the motive which prompted her. Luke 21:1-4

March 23, 2024

Darkness veiled the sky the day that Jesus died in agony upon the bitter cross. They took His body down and laid it in a tomb; His friends believed that everything was lost. But when the third day came, the darkness turned to light. The savior, Jesus Christ, was RISEN. He was risen to free the captives, ransom you and me, bind up every broken heart, and conquer death and sin. He was risen to bring us home again.

Watch our Celebration in Concert recorded on March 23, 2024 at 11 a.m. during the worship service. We are delighted to have the participation of the Old Westbury SDA Church musicians and Pastor Mangum.

March 16, 2024

Elder David Santiago delivers his message entitled "THE DEMAS DISEASE"

John’s command is imperative in the present tense. This indicates that not loving the world is a way of life for the believer in Christ. The problem is that sometimes Christians get too attached to the things of this world.

Demas was a convert to Christianity. He was received into full communion with the church. He is mentioned in connection with Luke, the beloved physician. “Luke the beloved physician, and Demas greet you,” writes Paul. In another letter, he sends a greeting to Demas. But again, we find him writing, “Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me; for Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world.” He chose the world before Christ, and this was the cause of his failure. It is the cause of the failure of many who claim to be Christians. We must see our weaknesses and strive to remedy our character faults, or else we shall surely become Demas—drawn away from safe paths into worldly projects and ambitious plans. Thus, we shall make shipwreck of our faith.

If we permit our minds to dwell more upon Christ and the heavenly world, we should find a powerful stimulus and support in fighting the battles of the Lord.

MARCH 9, 2024

We welcome this Sabbath Pastor Gabriel Riojas (Southern California Conference). He is preaching his sermon "Help Wanted" based on 1 Corinthians 12:4-6

Let all go to work. Let no one fold his hands in unbelief because he thinks he can do no mighty work. Cease looking at self. Look at your Leader. In sincerity, meekness, and love, do what you can. God will certainly bless wholehearted workers. God stands behind the one who does his best. Let every worker rely on His power, and He will impress the hearts of those for whom he labors. Great good may be accomplished by the sincere, humble worker who realizes that success does not depend on appearances but on the One who has given him his commission.

March 2, 2024

Women's International Day of Prayer. Join us as our guest speaker Cindy Finlay Thompson, will be having our message called "Teach us to Pray".

After instructing His disciples not to use “vain repetitions” in their prayers, in kindness and mercy He gave them a short sample prayer in order that they might know how to avoid imitating the prayers of the Pharisees. In giving this prayer, He knew that He was helping human infirmity by framing into words that which comprehends every human need. “We know not what we should pray for as we ought,” but Christ's instruction to us is clear and definite.

"After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen." Matthew 6:9-13

february 24, 2024

The Blue Mountain Academy presents BELL CANTO in Tour, on February 24, 2024 at the Old Westbury SDA Church for the Worship Service at 11am.

Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: ... Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord. Psalm 150:1-6 The Bell Canto Student Choir is directed by Mrs. Trena Murphy. You are invited to come and enjoy inspiring praise songs.

FEBRUARY 17, 2024

Pastor James Mangum delivers his message entitled, "The Family of God."

After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands. Revelation 7:9

All classes, all nations, and kindreds and people and tongues will stand before the throne of God and the Lamb with their spotless robes and jeweled crowns. Said the angel, These are they that have come up through great tribulation and have washed their robes and made them white, while the lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God, the self-indulgent and disobedient, have lost both worlds. They have neither the things of this life nor the immortal life.

February 10, 2024

On February 10, 2024, during the worship service, the Whispering Pines Adventist School Students will present the Special music. You are invited to join us and hear Marlanzo Williams, a 7th Grader who passionately preaches Jesus's love and mercy toward us.

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. Ephesians 2:4-5.

As God raised Christ from the dead, that He might bring life and immortality to light through the gospel, and thus save His people from their sins, so Christ has raised fallen human beings to spiritual life, quickening them with His life, filling their hearts with hope and joy.

February 3, 2024

Come and be blessed as Pastor Mangum shares his sermon entitled "I Told You So! Through the scriptures, he will be reminding us that even though God has given us clear instructions, He does not leave us when we go astray.

And Samson called unto the Lord, and said, O Lord God, Remember me. Judges 16:28.

JANUARY 27, 2024

You are invited to join us for Sabbath worship as Pastor Stephen Erich, our guest speaker, delivers his message entitled        "Loose in the Fire." Bring a friend with you, or join the livestream with your family. (YouTube and Facebook)

Scripture Reading -  Daniel 3:19-25

"He who walked with the Hebrew worthies in the fiery furnace will be with His followers wherever they are. His abiding presence will comfort and sustain. In the midst of the time of trouble—trouble such as has not been since there was a nation—His chosen ones will stand unmoved. Satan with all the hosts of evil cannot destroy the weakest of God's saints. Angels that excel in strength will protect them, and in their behalf Jehovah will reveal Himself as a “God of gods,” able to save to the uttermost those who have put their trust in Him." Prophets and Kings

January 20, 2024

Pastor Lincoln M. Smith (GNYC English Ministries Coordinator), was our guest speaker, delivers his message entitled "The Praying Church."

The church must pray often - Jesus prayed! The Majesty of Heaven prayed! He wept on behalf of man. Prayer, faithful, earnest prayer will move the arm that moves the world. The church must pray much if they walk in the light, as He is in it.

Luke 11:1 "Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples."

JANUARY 13, 2024

Communion Service at 11:00 am.

The Lord’s Supper, celebrated today as a communion service, is an opportunity for believers to honor the gift of God in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. In doing this, Paul writes, “You proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes” (1 Corinthians 11:26). Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper to commemorate our deliverance from the burden of sin. It is the new covenant service that continues the solemn celebration of the Passover.

The Old Westbury Seventh-day Adventist Church practices open communion. All believers who claim Jesus is their Lord are welcome to participate in the service.

January 6, 2024

Pastor Mangum reminds us to study God's Word, knowing that man does not live by bread alone. January 6, the message is "The Value of His Word."

The only thing in our world we can rely on is the word of God. When we learn the power of His word, we shall not follow the suggestions of Satan to obtain food or to save our lives. When assailed by temptation, look not to circumstances or the weakness of self but to the power of the word.

Please invite your friends and family to join you and share our live stream on Facebook, Vimeo-church website, and YouTube.

"Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23

A great change takes place in the character of him who accepts Christ. God's plan is the only safe one. He declares, "Behold, I make all things new." Revelation 21:5. When the warp and woof of religion will not stand the test of trial, its composed material is worthless. The religion of self, composed of threads that fade and give way under the stress of temptation, must be cast aside, to be replaced by the religion woven by Him in whose life no selfishness found place. A religion formed after the divine pattern is the only one that will endure. Only by striving to live the life of Christ here can we prepare ourselves to live with Him through the eternal ages.

december 23, 2023

Dr. Amir Gulzar (Secretary/Treasurer of the Wisconsin Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists) is our guest speaker. The title of his sermon is "The King Has Come."

"Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, ‘Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.’ ” Matthew 2:1-2.

DECEMBER 16, 2023

On December 16, you are invited to join the Old Westbury Adventist Church musicians to praise and worship God. Pastor James will preach the message "The Light of the World."

"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." John 8:12

We can't see our future, direction, or destination, but Jesus can. Jesus directs us toward God's light like the lighthouse guided the ship. The light of Christ shows us through the darkness of sin and life.

Please invite your friends and family to join you and share our live stream on Facebook, Vimeo-church website, and YouTube.

November 4, 2023

This Sabbath, Pastor Mangum will conclude the DANIEL SERIES.

In Daniel 12, we stand very close to eternity. Behind us, the significant events of salvation history have gone by: the Flood, in which only eight people were saved; the Exodus from Egypt, which gave birth to the nation of Israel; and the Cross, which brought freedom from sin to all people. But the close of salvation history is still to come. This will be the great exodus of saved people from this sin-filled planet. Through Jesus, God has promised us that we will receive what God has promised to give us "at the end of the days."

"At that time Michael shall stand up,The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, every one who is found written in the book." Daniel 12:1

September 2, Pastor Mangum's sermon is entitled "From North and South to the Beautiful Land," Daniel 11. Invite your friends and family to join you and share our live stream: Facebook, Vimeo-church website, and Youtube.

"And some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them, purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time" Daniel 11:35

Chapter 11 follows three basic points. First, it begins with the Persian kings and discusses their fates and the end time, when the king of the north attacks the holy mountain of God. Second, a succession of battles between the king of the North and the South and describe how they affected God's people. Third, it concludes with a happy ending as the king of the North faces his demise by the "glorious holy mountain." Such a positive conclusion signals the end of evil and the establishment of God's eternal kingdom.

August 12, Pastor James' sermon is entitled "FROM BATTLE TO VICTORY," Daniel 10.

"O man greatly beloved, fear not! Peace be to you; be strong, yes, be strong!" Daniel 10:19

The heavenly messenger pulls the curtain aside and reveals to Daniel the cosmic war that transpires behind the scenes of human history. As we study this chapter, we see that when we pray, we engage in this cosmic conflict in a way that has profound repercussions. But we are not alone in our struggles; Jesus engages the battle against Satan on our behalf. We shall learn that the ultimate fight we are involved in is not against earthly human powers but the powers of darkness.

August 12, 2023

On Sabbath, August 12, Pastor James' sermon is entitled "THE COMING OF THE MESSIAH," continuing the summer series "The Book of Daniel." One of the most beautiful and powerful examples of intercessory prayer occurs in Daniel 9.

His prayer exemplifies our need for God's grace and mercy because it reveals the gap between a holy God and sinful humanity—a gap that can be closed only by the Messiah, the God who became a human being and thus was the only One who could bridge that gap between humanity and God.

Perhaps that is why this chapter ends with one of the most compelling and intense Messianic prophecies in the Old Testament, one that forcefully predicts the coming of Jesus, who arrived to bridge that gap. And though, in the immediate context, Daniel was concerned with the political and physical restoration of his nation, the prophecy points to the One whose advent would, eventually, lead to the ultimate restoration of sinful humanity to a holy, sinless God.

AUGUST 5, 2023

On Sabbath, August 5, Pastor James is preaching "THE PRINCE OF THE HEAVENLY HOST" Daniel 8, continuing The Book of Daniel Series.

Daniel 8 develops a theme about the attack against Christ as the High Priest in the heavenly sanctuary.

Daniel 8 exudes sanctuary imagery. The beasts used as symbols in Daniel 7 are unclean (lion, bear, leopard), while those used in Daniel 8 are clean (ram, goat). Also, in contrast to the beasts of Daniel 7, the animals in Daniel 8 are sanctuary animals. By employing these animals as symbols of kingdoms, the Lord directs the reader's mind toward the sanctuary, thus giving hints on how we can understand and interpret the vision.

This chapter also emphasizes the element of conflict at two levels: the historical and the spiritual. The goat attacks the ram and is victorious; the little horn attacks the south (the east and Palestine) and is victorious. But, then, the little horn does something that no other kingdom has done: It goes against the Prince of the Host in the heavenly sanctuary. This is the assault against Heaven itself!

JULY 22, 2023

Sabbath, July 22, we will continue the study of the Book of Daniel. "THE ANCIENT OF DAYS STILL REIGNS" Daniel chapter 7.

Daniel is given his first vision and prophecy from God, which details the rise and fall of the great persecuting kingdoms represented as beasts of Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, and the Little Horn power. Because of the persecuting perplexity of the Little Horn power, God gives Daniel visions into the heavenly court where he sees God the Son (Son of Man) being brought before God the Father (The Ancient of Days), beginning the investigative and millennIal judgment during the time of the Little Horn. Judgment favors the saints, and God's kingdom will be set up, which will not pass away, proving that the Ancient of Days still reigns!

Join us as we continue the study of the Book of Daniel. "GOD SENT HIS ANGEL" Daniel chapter 6.

Daniel was high in command, but the agents of Satan sought to make his faithfulness to God the cause of his destruction. Daniel considered supplication to God of such importance that he would rather sacrifice his life than relinquish it.

God permitted evil angels and wicked men to accomplish their purpose to make the deliverance of His servant marked and the defeat of the enemies of truth and righteousness more complete. Through the courage of one man who chose to be faithful, Satan was defeated, and the name of God was honored. This deliverance power allows the servant of God to maintain his integrity under all circumstances and triumph through divine grace.

Join us as we continue the study of the Book of Daniel. "WEIGHTED IN HEAVEN'S BALANCES" Daniel chapter 5.

Many need now to consider the words, “TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting”. God's holy, everlasting, immutable law is the standard by which man is to be tried. This law defines what we shall and shall not do, saying, Thou shalt, and, Thou shalt not. This law is summed up in the two great principles, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind, and thy neighbor as thyself.”

This means just what it says. O, how few will be prepared to meet the law of God on the great day of judgment! Man, weighed against God's holy law, is found wanting. The precepts of the law enlighten us, but no man can by them be justified. Weighed and found wanting is our inscription by nature. But Christ is our mediator, and accepting Him as our Saviour, we may claim the promise, “Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”

Sabbath, June 24, Pastor Mangum is preaching his sermon entitled "HE HUMBLES THE PROUD,” continuing the Book of Daniel Series.

The strength of nations and individuals is not found in the opportunities and facilities that appear to make them invincible; it is not found in their boasted greatness. Human histories relate people's achievements and their success to worldly greatness. God's history describes men and women as heaven views them.

Through his terrible humiliation, Nebuchadnezzar was brought to see his weakness and acknowledge the supremacy of the living God. To every person, God has assigned a place in His great plan. Each person, according to their choice, is deciding their eternal destiny.

June 17, 2023

Sabbath, June 17, Pastor Mangum's sermon is based on Daniel Chapter 3, "DELIVERED FROM FIRE,” continuing the summer series "The Book of Daniel.

A severe test came to three Hebrew youths when Nebuchadnezzar issued a proclamation, calling upon the kingdom's officers to assemble at the dedication of the great image and the sound of the music everyone needed to worship it.

From age to age, the heroes of the faith have been marked by their fidelity to God, and they have been brought conspicuously before the world so that their light might shine on those in darkness. Daniel and his three companions are notable examples of Christian heroism. From their experience, we learned what God does for those who serve Him with the whole purpose of heart.

JUNE 10, 2023

Dr. Alanzo Smith (GNYC President) will continue the Summer Series “The Book of Daniel - Chapter 2.”

Behold the Jewish captive in the presence of the monarch of the world's most powerful empire. In his first words, he disclaimed honor for himself and exalted God as the source of all wisdom. The anxious king asked if Daniel had an interpretation of his dream. Daniel replied: “The secret which the king demanded, cannot be shown by the wise men, astrologers, and magician; but there is a God that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days.”

In the history of nations, the student of God's word may behold the literal fulfillment of divine prophecy. Babylon passed away because, in prosperity, its rulers had regarded themselves as independent of God and had ascribed the glory of their kingdom to human achievement. The kingdoms that followed were even more corrupt, and these sank lower in the scale of moral worth.

SUMMER SERIES: THE BOOK OF DANIEL

This summer, you are invited to Study the Book of Daniel every Sabbath during the worship service with Pastor James Mangum.

The first half of the book of Daniel deals with questions pertaining mainly to the kingdom of Babylon as it existed in the days of the prophet. The last six chapters are devoted entirely to the history of the world as a whole, and in visions given at various times, the prophet is shown the significant events till the end of time. In the seventh chapter, the prophet gives the history from the days of Babylon to the investigative judgment and reveals the future of God’s people. The last three chapters of the book of Daniel relate to the last recorded vision of the prophet. The tenth chapter details world history with important spiritual lessons.
